News - Tipik flies the European flag in Strasbourg

This year’s inaugural session of the European Parliament signalled the 30th anniversary of the election of its members by direct universal suffrage. The Parliament wanted to mark the occasion in a slightly more memorable way, and through Tipik (or Tipik’s Events Department, to be more precise), it did just that!

Tipik mainly took charge of staging the official ceremony on 13 July 2009, during which a detachment from Eurocorps hoisted the European flag. Music was provided for the occasion by the Strasbourg Philharmonic, the symphony orchestra led by Etienne Bardon and the children’s choir the ‘Petits chanteurs de Strasbourg’ of the National Rhine Opera, directed by Phillipe Utard.
